LINNIE FRANK BAILEY
Biography
A native Californian, Linnie Frank Bailey grew up in Los Angeles where she attended public schools. Upon graduating from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychology, she began her career as a Computer Programmer in Albany, New York, working for the state government.
Linnie continued her career in the Washington, D.C. area, working as a Computer Systems Analyst and Management Consultant with Sperry Univac and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. In these positions her responsibilities included project management, marketing, and all phases of computer systems development. Using her technical expertise, as well as her exposure to the hiring process, she subsequently became a Technical Recruiter.
It was during her stay in D.C. that Linnie became involved in community service activities, in particular, computer training for minority youth. Linnie joined a national association of African-American computer professionals and organized a D.C. chapter. She served as president of the local chapter and was on the board of directors of the national organization. Her association with this organization required many hours of computer literacy training, presentations, and seminars. She was particularly effective in getting corporate support for inner city school training.
Linnie returned to California in 1987 and accepted a position as an Area Manager with a division of General Electric. Her volunteer activities still focused on computer training for youth and adults. She left her corporate career following the birth of her son in 1990, and started a computer literacy program at an A.M.E. church in Los Angeles. In 1993, she was hired by the church to computerize operations and administrate the activities of the church. She continued as a Consultant to non-profit organizations, performing financial, administrative, and technical duties. She worked as a Community Liaison between residents, businesses, churches, and government entities, and laid the blueprint for a community development organization (501c3) to support the health care and educational needs of residents of South Los Angeles.

In 1998, Linnie co-authored the book This Far by Faith: How to Put God First in Everyday Living, which was published by Bantam, Doubleday, Dell. Following the publication of the hardcover and paperback editions of the book, she toured the country speaking on the importance of faith in daily living. She presented to faith-based, as well as business, and social organizations.
During this period, Linnie co-founded This Far by Faith Enterprises, a company that was dedicated to motivating women to celebrate the positive aspects of life, and to reach their spiritual potential. The mission was to promote the Gospel, and wholesome living, among today’s female high achievers using vehicles such as prayer groups, seminars, and the web, to spread the message.
In 2001, Linnie became a staff writer with a religious non-profit. Subsequently, she became editor of the organization's newsletter and staff writer for various publications including books, booklets, newsletters, devotionals, sermon series, proposals, web content, press releases, marketing materials, and brochures. Linnie also represented the organization with local media and business organizations, and planned and implemented events.
From 2000 to 2003, Linnie created and published The Walk…. Newsletter for contemporary Christians. The journal focused on daily living themes, including family, career, and relationships, as well as real-life stories of Christians from all walks-of-life.
In 2006, Linnie started Holy Prose Press, a writing and publishing company. Currently, she provides ghostwriting and publishing services to organizations and individuals. In 2007, she self-published the book God on the Job: Salvation from the 9 to 5!, and has created on-line worker support groups.
In 2008, Linnie was a field organizer for the Obama campaign and was elected as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. As a freelance writer, blogger, and journalist, Linnie writes for local and national publications, including The Black Voice News. She leads a diverse group of Inland Empire residents in the Obama Riverside grassroots community service group.
Linnie is married to Greg Bailey, a Computer Software Developer. The couple has one son (Gregory, 19) and one daughter (Kyra, 10).
